These are the gems I was able to bump into in my short weekend getaway to Panama City, Panama, with Nigel. I was not really sure with what I was going to experience in this short time, but it honestly was such a beautiful getaway filled with Panama's sweeping skyline views mixed with its colonial buildings.

Aside from the mini adventures that were made in Panama City, Panama, we were able to do an additional day trips for a crazy, adventurous hike as well as taking a short boat ride to a dreamy island close by. ♡

1. Old Town Casco Viejo

2. Panama Canal - The 8th Wonder of the World!

3. Panama City's Skyline

Whether you are trying to view the skyline on a rooftop bar (which there are SO many awesome ones!) or from the top of hotel, this is definitely a must! Nigel and I opted to check out the rooftop of our hotel (Eurostars), and was greeted by the beautiful Panama City skyline view.

4. Taboga Island, Panama

Visiting Taboga Island via a direct ferry was the best decision while visiting Panama.  When we visited Taboga Island, we visited in low season (late March), and It was like we were on our own private island. We definitely timed it correctly to visit on a weekday to beat the weekend crowds. Out time was filled up on the beach, and we also grabbed a bite from the local eateries.

How to visit Taboga Island from Panama City, Panama?

We were able to take the 30-minute direct ferry ride from Amador Causeway to Taboga Island via Taboga Express ferry.  It was only about $20 round trip each. They have concessions on the boat so definitely have cash on hand.

I can't say that the beach on Taboga Island would compare to San Blas or Pearl Islands, but the price of getting to Taboga Island surely beats the high price tag of visiting the other beaches. So if you're looking for an affordable day trip from Panama, Taboga Island is a great pick!

5. Villa Caprichosa on Taboga Island, Panama

I had to totally make this its own category.  Villa Caprichosa was such a stunning accommodation.  We stayed in The Crown Jewel Suite which consisted of:

  • Stunning interior design with the feel  of 18th-century European, the absolute romantic vibes
  • Super comfy queen size bed
  • Full-sized kitchen (We made coffee and was able to cook our own breakfast, enjoyed every bite on the patio by the private pool. Such A DREAM!!)
  • The view of the ocean from your suite
  • A private pool (has pool lights which is perfect for a night time dip under the stars)

6. El Valle De Anton, Anton Valley, Panama
