Being in the same space as your loved one for a long period of time is either a hit or miss.
You both will probably get on each other’s nerves at some point, but it’s always important to keep the relationship fresh and full of love as best and as most as possible.
Thankfully, for the majority of the time with Nigel, it has been a hit.
In times like these, such as a pandemic, everyone is dealing with their own personal battles, anxiety, and weight on their shoulders. This brings me to believe that this is the best time to give the most love as much as possible to the ones you are surrounded with during this time.
So in times like these, we can pout about not being able to go on normal dates, or make the most of this time to make dates fun, romantic, and rememberable...but at home!
Here are the best stay at home date night ideas to keep you and your loved one(s) occupied during quarantine. These fun date night ideas are super dang easy and cute!
It has probably been awhile since you've both dressed up for a night out. If you're anything like me, I love dressing up for date night! Dress on what makes you feel best, even a dash of red lipstick will brighten your look up! Heres a step by step on how to accomplish your romantic night in (We're here to impress right? Super perfect for celebrating anniversaries at home!):
1) Prep your table with a cloth table cloth
2) Rose petals where you feel is best, even a bouquet for the lady is a nice gesture
3) Dress up to the nines
4) Light those candles up!!!
5) Pour that wine
6) Choice of dinner is up to you. Whatever suits your fancy! Even carryout from your favorite restaurant is also nice. Plating your dinner on fine china is a nice touch, too.
Instead of ordering a pizza near you, how about making a pizza in the comfort of your own kitchen? Here is a recipe to make your very own homemade pizza! (Recipe here!)
If you go into a grocery store (Walmart, Publix, Target, or even just heading to Total Wine), there's usually a specific section of wines from all around the world. Such an adventurous option to just have a whole bunch of wine from different countries in the comfort of your own home.
But if you're on a budget, I'd suggest to just search for cheap wines in the aisle and be adventurous to try a new kind of wine.
Or instead of wine, go for some different type of beers for a beer tasting.
Non-alcoholic? Do a chocolate taste test which is also yummy.
If you're not familiar with wine, the picture below explains different types of wine as well as pairings to go with your wine!
What do you need?
Look forward to waking up or surprising your loved one with breakfast! Here are some different ideas to enjoy your morning together:
(Trying to make quarantine more fun and interesting, right? Probably more fun with mimosas on a Sunday morning.)
Look up some youtube videos on how to give back massages, and try it out! L
ay out the towel, light some candles, dim the lights, and bring out some coconut oil.
(Click here for a Youtube on how to give a back massage for beginners!)
Bake cookies, make a fort in your living room, watch a movie you loved growing up.
If you have a mattress you can blow up to place on the patio, it makes for comfy viewing and cuddling. This would be a perfect time to write out a bucket list of things you want to do and places you want to visit after the quarantine is over!
Make dinner a fun experience!
One night Nigel and I had a Taco Tuesday night at home. Put on some upbeat music, chopped some onions and limes, I cooked steak tacos on the stove top, warmed up some corn tortillas, and Nigel purchased a cocktail shaker set to make some fresh margs to pair with the tacos.
I used the recipes below for the perfect Taco Tuesday date night while at home!
Spa night at home! Press play on your favorite soothing music playlist, light up the candles, fill the tub with hot water, drop the bath bomb, and enjoy.
Here is an Amazon find for bath tub date night! (Click the picture below to check it out):
If you have a box where you keep all your memorabilia, take the time to go through it and reminisce.
Take the time to write down 10 (or more!) things you love or admire your partner.
This is a great time to show your appreciation to the one you love very much!
(While practicing social distancing, of course.)
I can't say enough about camping hammocks and how much it has made this quarantine time SO much better and enjoyable. I have loved cuddling up with Nigel in the hammock he gifted me for my birthday recently, and it is just so stinkin' relaxing.
Super fun just hanging out with some White Claws, and snacks while enjoying the afternoon swinging underneath the trees with the natural breeze on our faces.
Definitely look into the double hammock so you both are comfy and cozy like how Nigel and I are in the photo!
Go out on an adventure with your loved one to walk some trails after being inside all day.
Even if you don't have a destination in mind, try your best to get some fresh air.
If you’re stuck at home all day, Nigel and I like to just get in the car and drive anywhere and everywhere. On the plus side, gas is pretty cheap right now, too!
The simple things in life are some of the best!
Bring out a blanket. Breathe. Enjoy.
Dress up for date night, do a carryout order from your favorite restaurant and grab some drinks to-go! We have gone to a few restaurants and was able to walk around with our drinks while enjoying the sunset on a blanket we laid out in the grass.
Let's face it....one of the fun things to do nowadays is visiting the grocery store.
Have a grocery list ready, split the list and see who gets all the items the quickest. Loser obviously buys the bottle of wine to bring home ;)
If you have a grill at home or your apartment complex offers grills, take advantage of the time to enjoy the weather and have your own little cookout on the grill!
*And if you live in an apartment complex, just remember to wipe down your mess, and if you're kind enough, to wipe down with anti-bacterial wipes before (to protect yourself), and after (to protect others).*
Taking down this quarantine one day at a time!
Be safe.
